## Summary

An ElevenLabs agent can answer and place calls on a Kenyan number from Sautikit. **Inbound:** set your Sautikit number to forward to `+2547XXXXXXXX@sip.rtc.elevenlabs.io:5060`, where the part before the `@` is your number as you imported it into ElevenLabs. **Outbound:** in ElevenLabs, set the number's outbound trunk to address `sip.sautikit.com:5080`, transport UDP, with the SIP username and password from your number's **SIP & Devices** tab. The number costs KES 500 a month, inbound calls are free on Sautikit, and outbound calls cost KES 3.00 a minute billed per second. ElevenLabs bills its own agent minutes.

## What you need

- **A Sautikit number.** KES 500 a month, live in seconds from the console. Prepaid KES wallet, M-Pesa or card.
- **An ElevenLabs agent** and access to the **Phone Numbers** section of the ElevenLabs Agents platform.
- **Your number in E.164 format**, for example `+254709000000`. Use the same format everywhere below.

## How the call flows

**Someone calls your Kenyan number.** Sautikit answers on the Kenyan network, then forwards the call over SIP to ElevenLabs. ElevenLabs matches the number in the SIP address to the number you imported and hands the call to the agent you assigned.

**The agent calls a customer.** ElevenLabs sends the call to `sip.sautikit.com` and signs in with your SIP username and password. Sautikit places the call on the Kenyan network with your number as caller ID.

## Step 1: get your SIP details from Sautikit

In the [Sautikit console](https://app.sautikit.com), open **Numbers**, pick the number, open **SIP & Devices** and click **+ Add device**. Label it "ElevenLabs". Note the username and password; **SIP setup** on the row shows them again later.

| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Server | `sip.sautikit.com` |
| Port | `5080` |
| Transport | UDP |
| Username | your generated username (starts with `ep`) |
| Password | your generated password |

## Step 2: import the number into ElevenLabs

In ElevenLabs, go to **Phone Numbers**, choose to import a number from a SIP trunk, and enter:

| ElevenLabs field | Value |
|---|---|
| Phone number | your Sautikit number, for example `+254709000000` |
| Label | anything, for example "Sautikit Kenya" |
| Outbound address | `sip.sautikit.com:5080` |
| Transport | UDP |
| Media encryption | Disabled |
| Codecs | PCMU and PCMA |
| Username | your Sautikit SIP username |
| Password | your Sautikit SIP password |

Inbound authentication can stay empty: Sautikit forwards the call to ElevenLabs, it does not sign in to ElevenLabs. Save, then **assign your agent** to the number.

Pick **UDP** as the transport: Sautikit's SIP service runs on UDP port 5080.

## Step 3: forward inbound calls to ElevenLabs

Back in the Sautikit console, open the number and set **Forward** to one destination:

```text
+254709000000@sip.rtc.elevenlabs.io:5060
```

Use your own number before the `@`, exactly as you imported it in step 2. Do not add `sip:` in front; Sautikit adds what the switch needs. Save.

You can also do this with the API by setting the number's `forward.destinations` to that value. See [Forward calls and voicemail](/developers/guides/forward-calls-and-voicemail).

## Step 4: let the agent call out

Start an outbound call from ElevenLabs to a Kenyan number in E.164 format (`+2547…` or `+2541…`). ElevenLabs sends the call to `sip.sautikit.com:5080` with your credentials, and the person you call sees your Sautikit number.

## Step 5: test both directions

1. From your mobile, call the Sautikit number. The ElevenLabs agent should greet you.
2. From ElevenLabs, call your mobile. Your mobile should show the Sautikit number.

## Troubleshooting

**Inbound calls ring out or drop.** Check the forward destination matches the imported number character for character, including the `+254`. Check there is no `sip:` prefix.

**ElevenLabs outbound calls fail with an authentication error.** Copy the username and password again from **SIP setup**. Check the address is `sip.sautikit.com:5080`, not port 5060.

**Outbound calls are refused.** Dial the destination in E.164 format (`+254…`), not `07…`. Check your Sautikit wallet has credit.

**One-way or no audio.** Set codecs to PCMU and PCMA and media encryption to disabled.

## Prefer a managed agent?

Sautikit's own [AI agents](/ai-agents) answer your number with no second platform to connect: write the brief, bind it to the number, and pay KES 4.00 a minute (metered per second) on top of the call rate.

## FAQ

### Can ElevenLabs agents use a Kenyan phone number?

Yes. Import a Sautikit number into ElevenLabs as a SIP trunk number. Sautikit forwards calls to ElevenLabs and carries the agent's outbound calls on the Kenyan network.

### What SIP address does ElevenLabs use for inbound calls?

`sip.rtc.elevenlabs.io`, port 5060 for UDP or TCP. Put your phone number before the `@` so ElevenLabs knows which agent to use.

### How much does it cost to connect ElevenLabs to Sautikit?

The number is KES 500 a month, inbound calls are free on Sautikit, and the agent's outbound calls are KES 3.00 a minute billed per second. ElevenLabs charges separately for agent time.

### Do I need a PBX?

No. Sautikit is the phone line and forwards straight to ElevenLabs.
